Admit it. Get Help
 | Admit that you are procrastinating. Tell someone you trust that you are trying to break this habit and that you need their help and support. Offer to help them in return.
 | Remember, just because you put something off doesn't make it disappear.
 | Break an unpleasant or difficult job into smaller, more acceptable pieces. Set interim deadlines.
 | Don't use easier tasks or interruptions as excuses for not doing an important or difficult job.
Visualize Success
 | Do what winning athletes do: visualize yourself successfully completing the job.
Remove Distractions and Analyze the Job
 | Clear your work area of any low priority tasks and papers.
 | Put any objects that might be distracting out of your line of sight.
 | Before starting, analyze the job. Is there a simpler way of doing this job? Do you have to do it all, or can someone help you with part of it? Does everything have to be perfect?
Don't Fool Yourself
 | Be careful of thinking "I do my best work under pressure." This is frequently how procrastinators talk their way out of starting or completing a job.
 | Start the job even if you are not in the "right" mood. As you make progress, your mood will become more positive, and you will be more productive.
